Story: Shiva (Kartikeya), a charming and free-spirited graphic designer, quits his job in Hyderabad and returns to his hometown Bedurulanka. From his childhood, he harbors feelings for Chitra (Neha Shetty), daughter of the village president (Goparaju Ramana). As the village faces the uncertainty of 2012, Bhushan (Ajay Ghosh) Brahma (Srikant Iyengar) and Father Daniel (Otto Ramprasad) team up to manipulate and cheat the villagers for their personal gain. Can Shiva, questioning religious superstitions, uncover the truth behind the manipulation? Will the President approve of Shiva and Chitra's relationship?

Review: Set in the fictional town of Beduralanka in 2012, amid the height of anxiety about Yugantam, the film tackles various social issues using a mix of wit, satire and madness. Kartikeya's character of Shiva undergoes a transformation as he becomes an integral part of the village and its people. The movie questions the authenticity of the villagers' beliefs and explores the motivations that drive their actions.

Director Clax skillfully balances comedy, drama and intrigue to give the film a unique tone. Bedurulanka 2012 delivers both entertainment and a thought-provoking message, with its talented cast keeping the audience engaged with their wit and acting.

Karthikeya's dynamic portrayal of Shiva shines throughout the film. Neha Shetty, in her role as the leading lady, delivers an impressive performance despite her limited character development. A little more context could add depth to their love story. The supporting cast including Ajay Ghosh, LB Sriram, Venela Kishore, Satya, Divya Narni, Rajkumar Kasireddy, Srikanth Iyengar, Goparaju Ramana, Ramprasad, Surbhi Prabhavathi and others came up with strong performances.

The film's strongest point lies in its unique narration. It depicts how a village reacts to impending doom, skillfully balancing comedy and contemplation. It effectively combines humor with weighty themes like greed and fear. However, the emotional impact is somewhat restrained, as the film does not fully explore the inner struggles of the characters. At times the strong language and bold undertones may be uncomfortable for some viewers. Mani Sharma's music, and Sai Prakash and Sunny Kurapathi's cinematography are decent.

Overall, the film provides an entertaining experience, offering an unconventional take on the apocalypse. While not flawless, it deserves attention for its humor, acting and unique premise and narrative.
